Easing back into it...

I've had a trying couple of months. I won't go into all the gory details, but the short story is that our furry beast Poncho is no longer with us.

AE-1, light leaks and rainbow flare

He deserves a mention here though because he's always figured prominently in a lot of my knitting photos. I will miss him like crazy. It hasn't been that long since we said goodbye to Archie and we find ourselves in an empty house that as far as I'm concerned is now devoid of it's soul.

We are very sad, but it has been a far less shocking situation for us than the loss of our last cat. Poncho was old and lived a full life and in the end we knew he was suffering, so it was at least a decision that we were able to make.

bye bye poncho...

We love you P-man.

The grieving feels like a weight on your heart. Time will heal, though. Soon, I hope, many memories will bring a smile to your face.

oh, I'm so so sorry. every time I read in blogland of someone who has lost a beloved pet, I get all teary because I know how I'd feel if I lost my furry felines. Take comfort in that you gave them both a wonderful life, better than most cats in the world ever epxerience.

No! Oh, I'm so sorry. Ponch was awesome and he couldn't have asked for better "parents". Losing a pet is so hard, especially when you have to make THE decision. I totally understand. It WILL get easier. Big hugs!

I feel for you. It's been over 2 years since my American Eskimo (who was 15) had to be put down. It was so traumatic that I don't think I can get another dog. The beginning years were so great, but when they're suffering and acting out of sorts, and it's prolonged, it's heart-rending.
